Where does Kobbi come from?

When I first started to develop Kobbi, this was a little unclear to me too. Since then, I've come to understand that Kobbi is none of these things. It is a choice—a way of being that reflects a personal decision to incorporate appreciation in one's daily life.

I vividly remember the moment the word popped into my head. I was driving home from the job I had at the time and my thoughts were fixated on finding a name for this new tool I was developing. Since my launch product was stones, I started thinking about stones in general and then more specifically, cobblestones.

I began to imagine a collection of cobblestones in the form of a path—a path to happiness. At that point, the word "cobby" (like cobble) popped into my mind. So, Kobbi is a derivative of the word cobblestone. I originally thought I was going to spell it like "cobby" or "cobbie" but after experimenting with other spelling variations, I decided to spell it like "Kobbi:" I just liked the way it looked.

The Kobbi symbols are new. In line with creating a new name for thankful living (Kobbi), I wanted symbol designs that were also fresh and new, yet still reminiscent of the world's many cultures. That might be why they seem so familiar.

Take some time to reflect on the Kobbi symbols and you'll see that the shape of each symbol reflects its meaning.

While I would love to be able to say that my hands drew the Kobbi symbols, I can tell you they did not. I simply do not possess a creative talent for drawing. Well, at least not at the level where I could draw something that more people than just my mother would love.

However, I was not going to let this deter me and went in search of someone to help. I was very fortunate to find a great designer who worked with me to transform my vision into the Kobbi symbols you see today.
